Long time...

Wow, it's been a long time since I updated hasn't it? Big reason is Curt just did a huge post and it made me realize that I'm just kinda hiding in my own little world, not really listening or sharing :p
Probably the biggest thing going on in my life would be me and Christy... I didn't mention here before on LiveJournal but we've been together for nearly 6 months. :D
No Idea what to say, so I'll just leave it at that ;)
I've been looking into a scholarship recently that would involve working in computer security. It'd be really nice to get, but they require a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. You all know I wasn't doing so hot in chemistry and I was doing it for a long time... I got a 3.0 last spring and it barely affected my GPA. Luckily I went and talked to the guy in charge of this scholarship at the University, and because I've been doing so well in CS so far, I can possibly get that requirement waived if I get B's or better in the first 300 level CS classes. So now I have to work my ass off next semester on my 15 credits of CS classes (probably gonna drop a class - that's a bit much)
You guys all know my old apartment... I moved! Not far, just down two floors :p
To start things off, when I talked to the new people about signing the lease, I was told by the landlord that the lease ended in July, so the new one started in August. Around mid May, I was informed that they made a mistake... and the lease actually ended at the end of May! I'm still not sure if we got all that figured out.
Living on the bottom floor can be rather nice in the summer, so nice and cool... unless there happens to be a sewer problem. Yea, that's right, apparently the sewer go all clogged up (it was so bad there was crap coming out of the drain by the street) and we had it coming out the drain in the closet by the water heater! They didn't just come in and clean things up though... it was bad enough that they had to actually tear up a bunch of carpet and part of the wall! At first I thought, 'oh that's fine, I can live with some guys coming by to fix things for a few days' but then they informed me that they also had to take out the water heater to get to some of it. Hot water I can do without for a few days in the summer... no water at all is a different story.
I had to stay elsewhere for a few days (thanks <3). I'm just glad they were quick about getting the water heater back up and running... unfortunately the painters and carpet people aren't being quite so fast. I was told it would be about a week and a half or so for all of it because my place is on 'high priority' because I'm still living there, but it's been two weeks and I still can't use the living room (all the furniture is moved out of the way and half the carpet is gone)
Work has mostly sucked this summer, we have a lot of management types heading out and because of the transitions, nothing is getting done about all the small stuff - it starts to add up after a while.
I'm sure there's other stuff I haven't mentioned, but that's kinda what's on my mind right now.
P.S. Curt, give me a call sometime after this weekend. I work all day tomorrow and Sunday, need to find out what my work schedule looks like from now until Marching Band starts (the 14th)
